Activity info

Kea island belongs in Cyclades complex of islands, not far away from Athens mainland area. It’s 1 hour trip by ferry boat from Lavrio harbor, just 20 minutes drive from Athens International Airport. The island’s harbor, Korissia, is a small village, built along the harbor’s pier in a protected bay. It’s a nice, convenient option to choose for your stay. Within the bay, there is also another smaller harbor, Vourkari, a popular shelter for yachtsmen, with fine restaurants and bars.

On the island there are more than 30 sandy beaches. The best of them are accessible by boat only.

Kea is a place easy to access, not expensive, with fantastic diving and rich marine life, famous for its wrecks. The atmosphere on the island is really cool and elegant. A perfect diving destination in the Mediterranean.

DAY 1

Transfer from the Port to the hotel for check in.

Welcome drink at the hotel for a short briefing about the program

DAY 2

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at the northern side of Kea. The island is rocky, with steep walls diving to the sea. The first dive is a deep open sea one, circling a rocky islet. The wall goes down to 40 meters below the surface. The second dive is shallower. Perfect visibility and crystal clear water. Underwater landscape is breathtaking, a lot of fish, tunas, groupers, snappers and turtles.

DAY 3

Walk to the beach two morning dives at Treis Ammoudies and Marades dive sites. A beach dive with perfect visibility easy entering & exiting, good shelter, with a depth up to 18 meters. Marades is a wreck of a large barge of 19th century. An easy, wonderful dive for Open water divers.

Private hiking tour of Kea Island (duration: 4 hrs)

DAY 4

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Koundouros Reef. A lovely reef, protected from northern winds, with a lot of fish, without currents and waves. A breathtaking dive around the reef, too.

DAY 5

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Spanopoula Rock and Platys Gialos dive sites. The rock rises 60 meters off the coast. The dive takes place around the rocky island. Dramatic underwater landscape, awesome wall, breathtaking tunnel, trespassing through the islet. The second one is one of the best dive spots at the south of the island. Magnificent visibility, wonderful rock formations and nice fauna.

DAY 6

Walk to the beach for two morning dives at Ksyla Bay and Patris Bow Wreck dive sites. A magnificent, hidden wall dive for advanced divers, that starts at 15m of depth and reaches a depth of 30m and a beautiful reef that rises from 30m depth. The wreck is a rare type of vessel, a steamer ship that sunk at 1868, in a very good condition. It has wheels on each side, instead of props. The highlight of underwater kea.
