Sfakia, in the southwest of Crete, is the most famous and most authentic region of Crete. Here you can find the last pieces of the old Cretan culture and nature, far away from mass tourism. Whether you are looking for the nice and quiet, on the natural beaches, or want to be active, with mountain hiking, swimming, diving and fishing: this is the place. The South West is sheltered f by huge mountain ranges of over 2500 meters high. The hills and mountains are crossed by huge gorges; Sfakia’s Samaria gorge is the biggest of Europe, but there are many more and all can be walked fairly easily. There is a great choice of fine restaurants and tavernas, with local dishes of fresh fish, lobster, lam and goat or more international dishes. DAY 1
Transfer from the Port to the hotel for check in.

DAY 2
Walk to the beach for two morning dives (NOTOS MARE scuba diving) at Amoudi Reef and the Cave dive sites.
Amoudi reef is a diving destination for those who want to try out the DSD level dive. Experienced divers can take a short surface swim to get closer to the reef through a natural chimney. The Cave is accessed through a tight entrance via a halocline effect where the diver can admire the large stalagmites and stalactites all over the place.
DAY 3
Walk to the beach for two morning dives (NOTOS MARE scuba diving) at Arab Wreck and Coral Reef dive sites. The Arab Wreck is a wooden boat that was carrying 60 immigrants from Libya. The voyagers were rescued and the boat was taken to Sfakia where it sunk and an artificial reef has been since created. The Coral reef is particularly exciting because the experienced diver moves down fast from the shallow water to the full depth admiring different soft coral formations and colors.

DAY 4
Walk to the beach for for two dives (NOTOS MARE scuba diving) at Mabromali Wall and Pigados Cliff dive sites. The Wall offers a deep-water dive but it’s more interesting at lower depths where at many points sweet water springs emerge from it. Pigados is the Greek word for a well and this second dive takes you into a huge hole, which starts at 23m and hits the sea floor at 76m depth, with amazing marine life.
DAY 5
Walk to the beach for two morning dives (NOTOS MARE scuba diving) at Timios Stavros Reef and Sweet Water Reef dive sites. Timios Stavros Reef is a very special dive that gives you the feeling of floating above a sunken island with many huge rocks and little caves you can dive into and explore. In the deepest part of this dive at around 38m you are likely to meet hunting sea life such as barracudas and large red snappers, in the sand.
DAY 6
Walk to the beach for two morning dives (NOTOS MARE scuba diving) at Port Reef. This spot offers different dives, with a variety of rock and sandy ground coupled with exceptionally transparent water conditions and plenty of marine life.
